Relieve Stress
Having suffered from stress myself I can confirm that colouring makes me feel calmer, mentally clearer, happier and more relaxed. Many people who have taken up colouring say that their worries temporarily fade away. The power of art therapy may be the new “hot” topic for relieving stress, but it is by no means some new  idea. In fact, the idea of using colouring to relieve stress goes all the way back to one of the pioneers of modern psychology, Carl Jung. Jung focused on the power of creating and colouring mandalas. Each mandala is an intricate design that will draw your eye inward, shifting your focus towards your centre and allowing you to fully relax your mind as you express yourself through these beautiful complex illustrations.

Exercise the mind
Colouring is considered a good ‘mind exercise’ because it utilises both sides of the brain’s cerebral cortex- an important system of control as it promotes motor skills and co-ordination. When you colour, you utilise the logic-based part of the brain through the choice of colour or pattern. When you choose to blend colours, you utilise the creative part of your brain. Colouring works out both brain hemispheres, wow what are you waiting for!

Displaces negative emotions
In this modern day life we always feel worried about something, your health, bills, your family, your job, your future. So it is handy to have a means to escape. Colouring offers that. Most adults feel these fears I know I do! The world is uncertain so it is difficult not to have these negative emotions. Unfortunately these negative emotions works against us and makes us feel bad. With the absolute focus of colouring these negative emotions are ushered away and are thankfully replaced with wonderful positive emotions. Dr. Stan Rodski, a famous Neuropsychologist claims that adult colouring brings about real neurological effects in the brain. “we started seeing changes in heart rate, changes in brain-waves, the most amazing things occurred,” he said when discussing the results of colour therapy for adults.
